
TEOCHEW BRAISED PORK BELLY
Serves 4-6
(Prep.time 40 mins)
Ingredients:

500g of pork belly (cut into pieces)

2 pieces of dried bean curd

5 Hard-boiled eggs

2 garlic
-
1 ginger (cut into pieces)

Cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, star anise

2 tablespoon of premium light soy sauce

1 tablespoon of dark soy sauce

1 tablespoon of oyster sauce
To make it:

Marinate the pork belly with premium light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, and oyster sauce. Set aside.

Add ginger and garlic to hot oil then stir-fry till fragrant.

Add in cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and star anise. (Can adjust the quantities of the spices according to your preference)

After that, add in pork belly then cover it with water and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce to low heat and simmer with lid on for 30 minutes.

Add in dried bean curd and hard-boiled eggs simmer another 10 minutes. If you want the pork belly to be tenderer, continue to simmer a little longer. Serve hot, with rice.
