SWEET & SOUR SAUCE MEATBALLS

Serves 6-8
(Prep. time 40 mins)

Ingredients A:

  • 500g of minced pork

  • 2 teaspoon of corn flour

  • 1 egg (beaten)

  • 1 tablespoon of rice flour

Ingredients B:

  • ½ onion (sliced)

  • ½ green capsicum (cut into pieces)

  • ½ red capsicum (cut into pieces)

  • ½ pineapple (cut into pieces)

Ingredients C:

  • 1 tablespoon of chopped garlic

  • 1 tablespoon of chopped onion

  • 1 teaspoon of salt

  • ¼ teaspoon of five spice powder

  • ½ teaspoon of pepper powder

Ingredients D:

  • 200g of tomato ketchup

  • 5 tablespoon of water

  • 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce

  • 1 tablespoon of sugar

  • 1 teaspoon of salt

 

To make it:

  • Combine minced pork with Ingredients C for 30 mins.

  • Add egg and mix well. Stir in corn flour.

  • Shape minced pork into small balls and coat with a layer of rice flour.

  • Heat up oil in a wok and deep fry meatballs until golden brown.

  • Reserve 1 tablespoon of oil in the wok and stir fry Ingredients B until aromatic.

  • Add Ingredients D and bring to a boil.

  • Add meatballs and stir to coat.
