BRAISED BITTER GOURD WITH CHICKEN

Serves 3-5
(Prep.time 40 mins)

Ingredients:

  • 300g of chicken meat (cut into pieces)

  • 1 bitter gourd (deseeded and cut into long stripes)

  • 1 garlic

  • 1 ginger

  • 1 bowl of water

  • 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce

  • 1 tablespoon of light soy sauce

  • Salt


To make it:

  • Soak the bitter gourd in the water for about 20 minutes to reduce the bitterness.

  • Cut the ginger into pieces and peel off the garlic.

  • Heat up ½ tablespoon of oil in a pot, stir-fry the whole garlic and chicken meat till fragrant.

  • Add in bitter gourd, mix in oyster sauce and light soy sauce at the same time, and stir-fry for 5 minutes.

  • Pour in a bowl of water and bring to a boil over high heat. After that, reduce to medium heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Dish up.
